about us

Welcome Back To Your Body

Committed to creating a body positive place for all to heal.

South Philly Wellness is the private practice of Jennifer June in the neighborhood of West Passyunk.  Through SPW Jennifer is committed to creating a body positive place for all to heal, especially welcoming of women, persons of size and color as well as the LGBTQ community. SPW is one of few studios offering a sliding scale payment option for select services. We view massage and bodywork as  a part of routine health care, rather than a luxury service. Through our sliding scale program we are able to positively impact the lives of clients who may otherwise struggle financially to take care of their bodies.

Client empowerment, self love and compassion are values we hope to cultivate during our sessions and post session consults. Often there are tips, lifestyle tweaks, stretches or self care practices that are shared to enhance day to day living. Adjunct therapies may be part of your balanced treatment plan and referrals to additional health care providers will be offered whenever appropriate.

Massage & Bodywork are deeply personal and vulnerable experiences where trauma trapped in the body can be released. The priority of SPW is to create a safe, nonjudgemental space, where client healing can occur unhampered.  Clients who may have particular needs such as PTSD,  body dysmorphia, and survivors of assault or abuse are encouraged to receive work within their comfort zone.

SPW occupies a very petite space without a separate or formal waiting room. The massage table is the focus of the space. Be mindful, any guests brought to your session will be privy to our full conversation, your health history and able to witness you and your session in its entirety. Therefore guests are generally discouraged, but welcomed by client request.

Meet Your Practitioner

Jennifer is a 20 year resident of Philadelphia with a passion for improving the lives of others.  She is colorful, funny, often sports an irreverent view of things taken too seriously, and is a do it yourself, punk rock influenced creative type, mistaken for someone significantly younger. Always inquisitive, seeking depth of personal connection, and enjoying the opportunity to share the knowledge she has gathered. In all seriousness, she studies hard, plays infrequently and plies her trade with with the compassion of an aspiring bodhisattva.

The quest to heal herself led to a career. Curious to know more? Check out the video embedded in the page footer.

Outside the treatment room, Jennifer can be found biking Philadelphia, creative pursuits such as stencil art, film making, street photography, cooking up global cuisine, and spending time with her rescued Rat Terrier pup Scooter.
